Souvenir Programs We hope you will purchase the Spring Concert program (you can pre-order here) for $10. Since we don’t charge admission to watch the performances, we hope to raise some money with the purchase of this beautiful program designed by our graphic artist, Shweta Srivastava. We will also have a limited number available for sale the night of the concert. Yoshi’s We are so excited for the Jazz Band’s upcoming performance at Yoshi’s, the Bay Area’s premier jazz venue, on Tuesday, May 28 at 8pm! They will be sharing the stage with the Acalanes Jazz Band which is sure to be an incredible evening and performance by both. Please note: this event is sure to sell out fairly quickly with only 325 seats in the venue with an estimated 5-6 audience tickets available per performer. Buy tickets here! You will create a sign-up genius to collect donations of food and parent volunteers to help at each concert. Then, on concert night, you will work with the volunteers to ensure that the MUR is set up, food is delivered, that volunteers are ready to hand out programs and help clean-up after. MUSIC DIRECTOR, TANA BARNETT
CONCERT BAND
This first-level wind band draws experienced music students, primarily freshmen who studied at Joaquin Moraga Intermediate, Stanley Middle or other middle schools, but also older students who will benefit from the experience.
SYMPHONIC BAND
The advanced symphonic band includes winds, brass and percussion instrumentalists, primarily sophomores, juniors and seniors, although incoming freshmen may audition in the spring. This band plays high school and college level repertoire.
ORCHESTRA
Campolindo’s string orchestra includes freshmen through seniors and performs high school and college level repertoire. Some repertoire, such as Beethoven’s symphonies, are performed with brass, wind and percussion musicians drawn from the symphonic band.
JAZZ BAND
Entrance to Jazz Band is by audition only. In addition to concerts and competitions, the jazz band also performs at the annual Jazz Dinner Dance which will take place on Saturday, February 11th at 6pm.
MUSIC THEORY
This advanced placement course is open to any sophomore, junior or senior interested in music. It includes basic music theory and composing.
CONCERTS, MUSICALS, TOURS
Campolindo’s musicians perform at Campolindo’s Performing Arts Center (CPAC) for all concerts and in the orchestra pit for the spring musical.
AUDITIONING for incoming freshmen students
Depending on the individual skill level, an 8th grade band student may want to join the Symphonic and Jazz Band right away. In that case, contact Mr. Souza for an audition. Auditions are held in the spring and by appointment only.
THE CAMPOLINDO MUSIC BOOSTERS is the parent organization responsible for supporting Campo’s Instrumental Music program. Membership dues and donations are used to help enrich the instrumental music program. For more information, click here.
